Renovation Management for Interior Designers – Expanding your business with a lucrative service
What you will learn in this episode:
What I did to sustain my business through past economic downturns
What this can mean for you as a designer and what you can start doing to be prepared for whatever is to come
Why homeowners should still plan their renovation projects
The world is insane right now. We are experiencing unprecedented supply chain issues and still dealing with the pandemic and all of the surrounding issues that that has been causing. We are dealing with the summer months which I share in today’s episode why that is so important and worth discussing and then we’re hearing murmurs of a possible recession.
Today I want to talk to the designers about my personal experiences and how I have weathered downturns in the economy. I want to be careful using the “r” word (recession) because I think it triggers some people and they start to go into a panic. I honestly think there may never be a full-blown recession, but there are economic downturns periodically throughout our country’s history.
A lot of what we are hearing is fed from the news and not necessarily indicative of what’s happening in our specific communities and client base, which is what I want to talk about in today’s episode!
I don’t want you panicking about something that may have no impact on you, your community, or your pipeline of clients.
There are still people renovating during recessions.
They may not be doing projects from the ground up, but they are still renovating kitchens and bathrooms, they are putting additions onto their house because they know at the end of whatever economic issue this country is going through, we will come out on the other side and their investment will be safe.
Now, they’re much savvier about what they’re investing in. But the renovating portion of my business does sustain me through economic downturns.
In today’s episode, I share in more detail what this can mean for you as a homeowner as well as designers and what you can start doing to be prepared for whatever is to come. I definitely don’t want to see designers panic and bail on the industry. This industry has sustained so many ups and downs and is still here and still viable!
I do believe there is a path forward that can sustain your business so that you’re healthy at the end of whatever this may be. If you don’t have the confidence in your renovation management skill set, please check out my course Renovation Management for Interior Designers
