Add-on’s, renovations, and new construction homes can seem intimidating to take on. How do you even get started? How do you find and manage contractors? What surprises should you anticipate coming up? How long do these things take?

In this podcast, you will learn all that and so much more!

What you will learn in this episode:

  • How this podcast started

  • How it pivoted to designers

  • What inspired me to add the New Course VIP Program

So this podcast was started during Covid when we had a little more time on our hands, and I had the ability to dig into what else I could be doing with my skills. I have had the most rewarding career and have been able to do so many different things within it.

The podcast was just a natural extension of my career. I had so much knowledge and was given so many opportunities by women before me that I felt compelled to pass it along.

As the podcast pivoted, so did the interior design industry. Decorating gets more and more eroded by access to the internet and tv programs, making it much harder to sell your services to clients. But guess what? They can’t restoration hardware their way through a construction project. That knowledge isn’t out there, and that’s because it is complicated. You do need skills, knowledge, and experience in order to run a project smoothly.

The course breaks this all down step by step in bite-sized lessons, from marketing yourself for these projects, building industry partner relationships, starting projects, managing the client, from expectations to getting a budget tight and real, to working with a team, all the way from building it to managing it though the project, working through issues that will come up along the way, and finishing so strong that every single person you work with will want to work with you again.

The designers in the course have all shared their feedback. There have been constructive feedback on things they still need to learn that aren’t in the course. And that’s the great thing about this course is that as the industry changes. There will be lessons added along the way to make the program stronger and support the designer in the way that they need.

I want to recognize the importance of building the confidence that designers need by helping them sort out the problems, issues, and concerns that they’re having that are specific solely to them.

My course is comprehensive, but it can’t possibly know what’s going on inside everybody’s design firm.  So I have developed a new VIP option that allows this to be a reality now! I can’t wait for you to hear!
