I have surprised myself!

This episode marks one year of recording this podcast! Let’s be honest, I didn’t know if I’d make one year, I didn’t know if I’d make one month!

This has been such an amazing journey that I didn’t even know I’d be taking!

If you haven’t figured out yet, I’m a talker! So having a podcast has worked so much better for me than blogging or even texting.

I had written countless blog drafts that were intended to go on my website. I’d read them, then edit them, then read them again, and edit them again. They were so buttoned up and grammatically correct that they just felt flat.

And while this isn’t the most entertaining content – I’ll let my friends at HGTV take care of that! It is important content that I want to get across, and this podcast is the perfect medium for it.

What I want to focus on today is what I’ve learned on this amazing journey this past year.

For one, I’ve learned how to become a better educator and explain things thoroughly without having the benefit of seeing your reaction.

Something else that surprised me in this journey is that originally this podcast was built for consumers, it was designed for homeowners who were struggling through their home renovation projects, who took on projects that didn’t go as planned but thought there was a better way of doing it. That who I was talking to.

But then designers showed up! And I loved that!

My goal with this podcast is to embrace anyone who is running a renovation project, whether that is the homeowner taking one on or a designer who is taking on renovation projects for their clients and most likely multiple projects at once.

In specific what I have been hearing from homeowners is that they are looking for the basics, the how-tos. But I also want to emphasize again, the importance of your role, the homeowner’s role during a renovation project.

Both consumers and designers are looking for confidence, and having the knowledge you need going into a project will give you that confidence you need to become a team member, not just a client, or designer on your project.

In closing, and as a thank you, I have a special offer for you as well! I’d love to hop on a call and discuss anything you would like to! Just rate, review, and send me an email we will get a call scheduled! I look forward to hearing from you!
