In this podcast, you will learn all that and so much more!

Renovation Projects in 2022, What To Expect

Featured on the Show:

What you will learn from this episode:

  • What to expect for your 2022 projects

  • Understanding you WILL have emotions on a construction project, but understanding that they are manageable.

  • The benefits of being educated

Do have your home renovation projects planned for 2022?

If not, now is the time to start!

We want your project to be an exciting time! But this will also be a challenging time. We have been slugging through the past year and a half due to supply chains, shortages, delays, and that is not going to end anytime soon.

So what does this mean for you?

I can tell you on my own projects we are having issues getting products, getting products in certain finishes. We are having problems with labor shortages.

In today’s episode, I’m sharing things that you can expect now with home renovation projects. And, this is why I’m starting to talk to you about this in November because if you’re planning on starting a project in the early part of 2022, you need to be starting now!

I know right now, even my projects keep slipping and sliding, and it has nothing to do with me NOT wanting me to start in January, it’s things that are out of my control. And as frustrating as that is, it is what it is.

So, how do you deal with that?

You still go through the exact same steps as if we were “in normal times”!

You just have to factor in much bigger brackets of time than you would likely have to before all of this.

So if your contractor is telling you it will be 12 weeks to renovate your kitchen, I would start thinking in my head 15-16 weeks.

Now, the work itself does not take 4 extra weeks! It’s the waiting game that you have to play to get all of those pieces in place.

One of the things the course I built (Only Girl On The Jobsite Course) will talk about, is all the emotions that people will naturally go through on jobs. This is something I have witnessed myself for decades!

You WILL go through the fatigue stage, but it will be easier to manage to get through that fatigue stage knowing that it’s normal, and it’s expected!

While I can’t foresee when certain stages will start and stop, I do know that they will be experienced by every client on every project.

This is why the course is SO invaluable! It explains all of the details you should expect and great ideas and suggestions on HOW to get through it. That truthfully is the goal. You can’t control whether you go through an emotional roller coaster on a construction site, but you can know how to manage it.

Being educated will also allow you to be much more collaborative because you’re not having to spend all of your mental energy in trying to untie the knot that construction looks like to a newcomer.

Being collaborative is your goal.

There will be collaborative moments where you will be required to partake in. There will be unforeseen items that come up. And instead of trying to process the why and the how, because you know that now, you can then go in and be collaborative and put your creative hat on and talk about ideas, and the pros and cons.

I love what I do because I have the confidence and knowledge on the baseline of any renovation project. I have fun! Don’t get me wrong, issues come up but they are also now manageable because there’s knowledge on how to get from point A to point B.
