Add-on’s, renovations, and new construction homes can seem intimidating to take on. How do you even get started? How do you find and manage contractors? What surprises should you anticipate coming up? How long do these things take?

In this podcast, you will learn all that and so much more!

Featured on the Show:

What you will learn in this episode:

  • What a 1:1 call with me is like

  • The value a designer can bring to a renovation project

  • How it is so easy to miss what is right in front of you until someone points it out

Today, I want to give you a feeling of what my 1:1 calls look like, sound like, and how much the designers are getting out of them!

These calls can range from the course material to issues on a project….. One woman is working through trouble with her contractor, another one wanted to expand her services and leverage the experience she does have to highlight her accomplishments in order to get bigger projects. We discussed several marketing tactics, partners she could reach out to, and client referrals from the work she’s already done well.

An overarching topic that has come through most of these conversations is how to grow confidence and sell the fact that a designer brings an inordinate amount of value to a renovation project.

Today, I’m sharing with you a conversation I had with a member of my course. This woman has experience in renovations and trying to gain more. She has been working on a package she can offer to clients and wanted my feedback on it. We talked through areas she could work on, how to market it, and who to put it in front of. We also talk about a call she had just received where the woman was seeking her out for her decorating skills for a new build, and we discussed how she could position herself to be involved in the construction itself.

A trend I’m seeing is designers will call me with one specific item, and while we go through all of that, something comes up that seems more important, more valuable to the designer. I get it, it is really hard to see what is sometimes right in front of you until someone points it out. And that is why these calls and the community within the course are so valuable.

One more reminder that my course, Renovation Management for Interior Designers – Expanding your business with a lucrative service, promotion is on until midnight EST, December 14th. Join the course before then, and you’ll have instant access to the course and the community inside the course, as well as a free 45-minute call with me, where truly, nothing is off the table!

As always, I’d love to hear from all of you! You can reach me at renee@devignierdesign.com or DM me on Instagram @devignierdesign
