Add-on’s, renovations, and new construction homes can seem intimidating to take on. How do you even get started? How do you find and manage contractors? What surprises should you anticipate coming up? How long do these things take?

In this podcast, you will learn all that and so much more!

Featured on the Show:

What you will learn from this episode:

  • How can renovation disasters be avoided?

  • How to organize no matter what stage of the project you’re in

  • Stay in control of your project

Renovation disasters – how can they be avoided? This is the most common question I hear during my course, webinars, lives, everywhere I go, this is what people want to know!

The short answer to that is to be organized. I know that sounds overly simplistic. And you’re probably thinking, “How can that possibly help me avoid disaster on a home renovation project?”

Being organized will help you control majority of the mistakes I see people making and teams creating on home renovation projects. Is it easy? No, I’m not going to suggest it’s easy, but it is doable.

Another thing I hear from people is that they feel out of control. Which is another element.

Not only can you be organized, but you can also be in control.

Being organized and taking back control is entirely possible!

There are so many ways of taking back control. That is through researching, by building a budget that is actually realistic to the project you want to take on and changing your attitude towards the role you play in your project.

So many times I see homeowners sort of check out of their project, and then find out that things have been going wrong…but with you staying in control, the time loss is so much more controlled, and the cost stays in check and those are really the ultimate goals.

We can help you do this by creating those organizational skills. You can do this by finding resources on my website, go back to previous podcasts and listen to the specific deep-dives we take on all things budget, schedules, maintaining schedules, and on creating binders for your organization, and becoming a team member and elevating yourself out of the client role.

Whether you’re in the beginning, middle, or end stages, there is still time to do the research you can in order to establish, or regain the control you may have lost along the way.
