Happy 2022!

I hope everyone was able to take a little break to enjoy the holidays and maybe entertain some friends and family. But as we start the new year, those projects we put on hold are gearing back up again.

Although I’m not one for making New Year’s resolutions in my personal life, I feel like now is the perfect time to talk about the kind of resolutions that could apply to the things discussed in this podcast, which is managing construction projects.

As things slowly start back up, it’s important to set new goals, such as scheduling regular weekly meetings, being a more active team member, and asking the questions you need to be asking. Whether you are currently in construction or planning a new project in 2022, start with a clean slate for the new year.

Other important things to think about this year:

  • Having a backup plan if things don’t go as smoothly as you’d like

  • Being proactive and adjusting your expectations

  • Be as researched as possible going into your next project

If you’re not able to start a new project in the timeframe you were hoping for, my suggestion is to take this extra time to explore new design and selection phases. If your construction won’t be starting until late spring, mid-year, or even early fall, then look at this as an opportunity, not a delay, to do all of the research you need to do before jumping into your project.

Whether you are a homeowner managing your own renovation or a designer trying to juggle multiple projects, use this time to be proactive and start this new year fresh. I can’t wait to dig into this more with you. I hope you enjoy the episode.
