Add-on’s, renovations, and new construction homes can seem intimidating to take on. How do you even get started? How do you find and manage contractors? What surprises should you anticipate coming up? How long do these things take?

In this podcast, you will learn all that and so much more!

Featured on the Show:

What you will learn from this episode:

  • Why women are uniquely qualified to manage construction projects

  • How the skills you already have can transfer to completing a successful home renovation project

Today’s episode is a bit of an addendum to a previous episode published around this time last year, Episode 15 – Why Women are Perfect for Managing a Renovation Project.

After reviewing the number of downloads that particular episode received, I realized it was an important topic that needed to be revisited.

I assume that most of the people listening to this podcast are women, so I shouldn’t be surprised that this specific episode got so much attention. I know and understand the insecurities women feel when taking on a renovation project.

Even a year after that episode was recorded, I do still firmly believe that women are highly-skilled at multitasking, a unique skill important for managing construction projects.

The number of details that need to be managed, cared for, anticipated, all those things at once is overwhelming. It’s like having multiple plates spinning above your head!

And as women, we know that if one plate falls, we just pick it up and start spinning it again.

Whether you are a new interior designer or a homeowner, you may feel like you aren’t very good at it right now. Heck, I wasn’t as good at multitasking when I first started either, but it all comes down to just simply managing multiple tasks at one time.

Especially if you’re a mom with one or ten children, having the skills to manage your family can also be applied to managing any project, including home renovation!

This is why I created The Only Girl on the Jobsite course for both homeowners and interior designers. These courses are designed to help you save both time and money by educating you in all the details you will need to know to successfully manage a renovation project.
