Add-on’s, renovations, and new construction homes can seem intimidating to take on. How do you even get started? How do you find and manage contractors? What surprises should you anticipate coming up? How long do these things take?

In this podcast, you will learn all that and so much more!

Featured on the Show:

Renovation Management for Interior Designers – Expanding your business with a lucrative service

What you will learn in this episode:

  • What you CAN do during delays

  • What you SHOULDN’T do

  • And why you SHOULD continue taking on your renovation projects

More than two years since the beginning of the pandemic, we are still struggling with lead-time issues and labor shortages. But the world and these projects must go on.

Today I want to talk about a common renovation – gutting your kitchen, and how that can be handled during these times.

Kitchen renovations are one of the top 2 or 3 projects that people take on as either homeowner or manage as designers for their clients.

Pre-pandemic kitchen renovations would take maybe 12 to 16 weeks depending on the project’s complexity, and you could give out a range of predictable times for finishing the project.

However, after the pandemic hit and all rules went out the window. But here we are, more than two years into this, and we still can’t predict the length of time of almost any renovation project.

And trust me, no one is more frustrated by this than designers and contractors and all of the trades.

We rely on these timelines so that we can be predictable in starting additional projects.

When all of that predictability goes out the window, the industry suffers.

So maybe you’re thinking you should wait to start your kitchen project, wait until the world settles down. The problem is we don’t know the predictability of that!

And that’s what I want to discuss in today’s episode – Should you continue with your kitchen renovation, or wait these delay times out?

I also want to remind the designers listening, that my signature course, Renovation Management for Interior Designers – Expanding your business with a lucrative service is live!!
